What’s the process to purchase and install a voice ?
In order for you to download and use the G-Tones Installer, and the Pigtones Voices, Please do the following
1. Right click on the download link for the Garmin G-tunes installer
· click save Target as
· save on Desk top
2. Right click on the download link for your new GPS voice
· click save Target as
· save on Desk top
3. Double click on the zip file to open it
· click on the GTonesSetup39.MSI
· Copy to desk top
4. Double click on the GTonesSetup39.MSI to run install. and follow the install instructions
5. After G-Tones is installed double click on the voice icon you saved to your desktop
6. It will automatically put the voice in the installer and open G-tunes
7. Click on the voice that you want to install
8. Make sure that your GPS is plugged into your computer
9. Click on the install button
10. The new voice will be stored under “American English”(the name will not change) in your Garmin make sure you select that one and enjoy your new voice .
If you have any problems check your security setting on FireFox or Internet Explorer and your email settings. Then put support@pigtones.com on your email “whitelist” so that we can send you the files, after you send us a email that says :

Instructions for Downloading and Installing Garmin Pigtone Voices
Did we mention to DOWNLOAD THE GARMIN VOICE INSTALLER?….
what are you waiting for? It’s free! Click the box on the top of this page to get it, then install it. It will take up residence on your machine cleverly disguised as a program called “G-Tones.”
We went to a lot of trouble to make nice pretty package files with the voice in it, plus some extra goodies. This package file (for the Garmin only) is called a “VUP” (you get to decide what that stands for).
The point is that if you DON’T have G-Tones installed, your computer won’t recognize the VUP file! Yeah, I know, can you believe it?
So any way, if you DO follow directions well, and you have put G-Tones on your computer, your life will be much more pleasant.
And by “your life,” we mean of course, “our lives,” since we won’t have as many people e-mailing us asking what a VUP is;).
The GVI will whisper in your computer’s ear and say “I got this.” Then all you have to do is double-click on the VUP file, which will be named according to the voice you purchased, like “Sadera_Garmin_Voice.vup.”
Then the GVI will spring into action, add Sadera’s voice to the G-Tones Library, which will automatically open, revealing your new voice, plus all the Garmin Pigtone voices you have already bought.
In G-Tones you will see what other goodies were in the VUP besides the voice. There’s a picture for each voice, along with its name and description, and a preview player as well. Nice huh? We thought you’d like it.
When you are ready to actually put the voice on your Garmin, just select the voice you want from the G-Tones Library, and hit the button at the top that says….you guessed it….”Install.”
For the less bright among you, there is even a picture on the “Install” button that shows an arrow going into a GPS. Of course you have to remember to actually attach your Garmin before you do this ;).
After a few seconds, G-Tones will tell you that your new voice was successfully installed onto your unit. That’s always nice, isn’t it?
Then all you have to do is make sure your Garmin’s “language” option is set to "American English".
That’s because at this particular point in time, the Pigtone voices only work with the American English menu item. I know, I know……I KNOW! You want to be able to load ALL the Pigtones voices at once so you can be sly and switch from Sadera to God when your kids get in the car.
Well you CAN’T. Well, I mean, not yet anyway. We have the world’s top scientists working on this right now. Soon the “Sadera-God” quick-switch will be reality! But for now, you’ll just have to switch to the nice British lady,
or one of the gazillion other languages available (except Klingon for some reason).

Instructions for Installing your TOM TOM Voice
Before copying any files across to your TOMTOM or deleting any files, be sure to keep a back up of all files on your TOMTOM, this can be done by simply selecting all files and making a copy and locating them on your computer. If you do lose your original files, and would like a copy, please see www.pigtones.com for additional ORGINAL VOICES, as we will keep a version of original voices on line until further notice.
The file you have downloaded from our site is a zip file. The brighter among you will realize that if you are reading this, you've already figured that out;). Of course the REALLY savvy will know by the clever file extension of ".zip." To unzip this file and access the nessesary voice file, simply right click on the file and select “Extract all”. On older Windows platforms you may have to use WinZip, which if not already installed can be downloaded for free on the internet.
Within the unzipped folder you will six files, including the all-important "TOMTOM.EXE." If your computer is really smart, there will be an icon next to it that looks like a purple marble with knotted string wrapped around it. Of course, this could also be a graphical representation of the earth with roads and destinations represented by dots, but I highly doubt that.
To connect your TOMTOM to your computer please connect your usb cable to the port on your TOMTOM and to your computer's USB socket.
o Please allow a few seconds for your computer to recognize the device. Some TomToms ask you if you would like it to connect to the computer......even though you just connected it to one....on purpose, presumably. If you don't press "yes" on the TomTom at this point, you won't be able to load your Pigtones voice on your unit, and you will be sad.
Double click on the TOMTOM.EXE file. The voice will be automatically installed for you. But you might get that "warning" that the publisher isn't "recognized" or "digitally-signed." What-ever!
Just say to continue anyway. You can trust us, surely. Of course you could always say "don't continue," because you're worried that even though you have an unsecured internet connection, do on-line banking, have no spam fileter on your e-mail, and visit illegal file-sharing sites on a regular basis, Pigtones is going to be the one program that comprimises your security. But then you won't be able to use the automatic installer, and you won't know how to get the voice onto your TomTom.
It seems such a waste doesn't it? Wouldn't it be easier just to trust us?
Vista owners may need to click “allow” to allow the file to install. But again, it's your choice. See above. If you decide to install the voice, you'll even be told when it is done, which is always a comfort isn't it?
Disconnect your TOMTOM from the USB cable and the cable from your computer, switch on your TOMTOM. The TOMTOM will now recognize the new Pigtones voice, which will be installed under the language "English US."
There will even be a picture of the character, in living color, with the name right under it, and our website, www.pigtones.com, just in case you get pulled over for laughing too hard.
You can explain to the nice police person where he/she can get THEIR very own Pigtones voice!
Your new PIGTONE should now be installed and ready to use.

Do your voices Support TTV?
No- not at this time
at this time any modified voices do not support TTV. We may in the future, or even some model may allow for a computer voice to simulate the TTV, depending on your model.
Is my Personal Information and credit card information safe?

What GPS units do you support?

GARMIN QUESTIONS
How Come my Garmin device is not showing up on my computer?
Depending on which GPS you have, it may not show up in the 'My computer”. This is something that Garmin did with early GPS units. Most specifically the C300 series. ( C310 C330, C340 Et. al)
How come when I click install on the installer it says to connect my GPS but it is connected and I can view the contents.
You may need to update your installer to the latest Garmin Installer. The computer can see it, but the installer may still be looking for it. Go to www.pigtones.com on the GARMIN page and download it now.
How Come the 300 series of “Street Pilots” are not supported?
For reasons listed above, we are unable to support the C300 Series of Garmin at this time. We are working on it, and may have a solution soon. Please check back with us, and we will let you know when we solve that problem.
What does the installer do For Garmin?
We have created a simple installer for the voice files for installing. Simply purchase, download to your desktop, and double click on the .VUP icon. It will automatically load the voice into the library, and with one click, you can install into your Garmin GPS.
Where is my voice on my Garmin?
When you have loaded the voice you can select the

the LOCALE button
and under the Mouth Icon, you select “American English”
your voice is ready to go.
To return to a regular boring old voice just repeat the above list, and select “British English”
Why is it always the same voice on my Garmin? Why always “American English”?
The Garmin only allows so many voices on the system and it only recognizes the factory set names at this time. Check back with us and the installer, we will eventually be able to put different names ON your Garmin GPS.
in the GARMIN I see the voices are .VPM, but I have a .VUP on my desktop. Will it work?
-No
The .VUP is a format we use to be able to install quickly via the installer on your GPS. It is our own proprietary format that allows us to quickly deliver to your GPS the wright voice.
How come the installer is not working?
There maybe a couple simple reasons the installer isn't working some of the things to check
This is a GARMIN only installer right now. Check to see if you have a GARMIN GPS.
Check to make sure your GPS is connected to the computer via USB cable
As part of beta testing, we are improving the installer, and continually make upgrades available. Please check to see if you have the latest version.
AGAIN, THIS IS A GARMIN INSTALLER, PLEASE CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GARMIN GPS. Just in case you didn't hear it the first time.

How come Tom Tom Does not have an installer?
WE are currently working on integrating tom tom into our installer, but have not completed that at this point. Please check back latter for an update on this.
